Meet model and fashion blogger Sylvie Mus! The 24 year-old has an impeccable minimalist aesthetic. Originally from Rwanda, Sylvie now resides in Finland. Her blog can be viewed at sylviemus.blogspot.fi.
What are some of the challenges and perks of being a model?
Being a model has a lot of perks, like traveling and meeting new people, but you have to keep the same look which can feel a little boring.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is minimal but versatile. I try not to follow trends too much and I only wear what I like and feel good in.
What are some of your favorite stores?
I like to shop in many different stores, but my favorites at the moment are Zara and Acne.
How did you get into modeling?
I was actually walking in a mall with friends and someone from a modeling agency came up to me and asked if I would be interested in modeling. I said, "Yeah, why not!"
Why did you start fashion blogging?
I wanted a place where I could write about fashion and share my personal style with people. So starting a blog felt like the perfect thing to do.
This summer, what styles or trends do you find yourself gravitating towards?
This summer I'm really into a bohemian 70's inspired style so I really like brown shades, pastel colors and suede at the moment
Who do you look up to for fashion inspiration and why?
I like Anna Dello Russo's style because it's so wild. But I also get inspired by people I see in the street and in fashion magazines.
What fashion trends do you see in FInland? Is it something that you see in your style as well?
I think in Finland people wear a lot of black and dark colors, but there are some exceptions of course. I like wearing all black too, but not so often.
